Alex Gilady, Special Olympics Israel Honorary President, presented Muhtar Kent, President and COO of the Coca-Cola Company, with a beautiful silver sculpture of Jerusalem as a gift from Special Olympics Israel./EM> | While on a business trip to Israel in June, Muhtar Kent, President and COO of the Coca-Cola Company, Special Olympics’ longest-standing corporate partner, set aside time to meet with Special Olympics Israel athletes. “There are two things most important and precious to me. One of them is Special Olympics athletes,” said Kent.
After meeting with Israeli President Shimon Peres and Coca-Cola officials, Kent, who is also a Special Olympics International Board Member, met with Special Olympics Israel Honorary President Alex Gilady, Vice-Chair Tali Kornhouser and several athletes.

In addition to being a Special Olympics Official Global Partner, the Coca-Cola Company also supported the 2007 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Shanghai, China. Its efforts, including cause-related marketing and a multifaceted awareness campaign in China through school and university outreach, Internet activity, outdoor advertising and retail displays, dramatically helped raise awareness of Special Olympics and active interest in the World Games throughout China. |
