The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is proud to be affiliated with the following law enforcement and corrections organizations from around the world, supporting the movement's largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle.
The IACP hosts a Law Enforcement Torch Run photography contest annually, with hundreds of entries received from around the world - all of the photos painting a moving picture of officers interacting with Special Olympics athletes in their communities.

"For decades law enforcement officers have been raising funds to help their local Special Olympics athletes fully participate and enjoy the events," says Elisa Cohen, Marketing Manager, IACP.
"What started as a relay run with the Special Olympics torch, in a small town in Kansas [in 1981 when Wichita, Kansas (USA), Police Chief Richard LaMunyon saw an urgent need to raise funds for and increase awareness of Special Olympics], has ballooned to the largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle for Special Olympics."
